The Hitotaba lamp is a part of the Sen furniture series, a collection of steel furniture designed by Japanese designer Shinn Asano. Asano, with a background in graphic design, has created a range of pieces that turn 2D lines into 3D forms, expressing both form and functionality in a unique way.

The inspiration for the Sen series, including the Hitotaba lamp, comes from the rich traditions of Japanese craft, patterns, hieroglyphs, and nuances. The Hitotaba lamp draws inspiration from the scene of bunches of rice straw hanging downwards to dry in the Japanese countryside. It captures the essence of this picturesque view and translates it into a sculptural piece that also functions as a lamp.

Manufactured at a wire works, the Hitotaba lamp is created by welding a wire bent in the shape of radiation to a ring. This technique beautifully captures the abstract 3D form of the lines, creating a visually striking piece.

The Hitotaba lamp measures 210mm in width and depth and stands at a height of 350mm. Its compact size makes it suitable for a variety of spaces, adding a touch of modern Japanese design to any room.
